Shibuya is our perfected loose, straight-fit jeans. With its high waist and loose straight leg, it is as modern as it is traditional, capturing the ideal balance of loose jeans’ ease and denim style. Shibuya is hand-crafted from rigid denim, a fast-fading 14.5 oz. Japanese indigo selvage denim made by The Jean Maker. It is made from organic cotton.

The final highlight is a 14.5 oz—Indigo selvage crafted by The Jean Maker. Weighing 14.5 oz., this denim features a tight weave with ring-spun warp and weft yarns, displaying a balanced yarn slub and twist. This combination gives the fabric a distinctive character in its raw state and allows it to develop rich contrasts with washing.

The uniqueness is further accentuated by the weft—the inner yarn system—dyed with indanthrene indigo sulphur dye, which resists fading from wear or washing and ensures a lasting indigo hue. Conversely, the warp is dyed with standard sulphur dye only on the surface yarns, causing the indigo to fade more quickly than usual.

The result is a pair of quickly fading indigo selvage jeans, producing high-contrast fades due to the indanthrene-dyed weft. These jeans have undergone a rinse to enhance the surface texture and achieve a muted indigo tone.

Given their propensity for faster fading, we advise careful washing to avoid friction damage from machine washing. Delaying washing for the first six months of regular wear is recommended. When washing becomes necessary, a gentle rinse is preferable to a full wash to minimize unwanted effects. If machine washing is unavoidable, use a delicate cycle with low spin and promptly remove the jeans afterward. Pre-dampening the jeans before washing can help soften them and reduce potential issues.
